Our Dutch office is primarily responsible for ship management services -including technical maintenance and onboard quality/safety-as well as providing business support to the other group companies.

Your Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the financial administration of both the office organisation and the managed vessels. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls and a reliable accounting function that serves as the financial compass of the organisation.
What you will be doing
Management & Oversight
- Managing and guiding the external accounting firm responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
- Co-ordinating and supporting the annual audit conducted by the external accounting provider.
- Monitoring and improving financial processes and internal controls.
- Supporting management with financial analyses, insights and recommendations.
Financial Responsibilities - Office Organisation
- Managing cash flow and liquidity forecasting.
- Processing incoming supplier invoices.
- Preparing and processing bank payments.
- Raising and issuing management fee invoices.
- Processing and reviewing payroll changes and payroll journal entries, including those relating to Dutch seafarers.
- Managing and reconciling the office balance sheet.
- Taking responsibility for the monthly close of the office accounts.
- Analysing and reviewing the profit and loss account (P&L).
- Maintaining and accounting for fixed assets and depreciation.
- Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns.
- Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of CBS surveys and statistical reporting requirements.
What we’re Looking For:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in accounting, financial control or finance.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience managing external service providers or accounting firms.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software systems.
- Experience within the maritime sector, shipping or ship management would be advantageous.
- Excellent command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken

- Ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinker with a proactive mindset and the confidence to challenge where necessary.
- Able to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain oversight of multiple projects simultaneously.
